Each charm carries a fragment of the harbor’s guiding light. By swapping neighboring pieces and creating groups of three or more identical symbols, you can release that light, repair damaged signal routes, and guide distant boats safely home.
The rules are easy to understand, yet each level introduces a new challenge. You must complete the required objective before your available turns run out. Some levels ask you to collect a certain type of harbor charm. Others require you to break glowing Signal Knots that have tangled themselves around the board. When a match is formed, those charms disappear in a burst of gentle light. New pieces fall from above to fill the empty spaces, sometimes creating additional matches without another move. These automatic combinations are known as Harbor Chains. Longer chains award more points and can make the difference between completing a difficult objective and running out of turns.

A horizontal four-tile match can create a charm capable of clearing an entire row. A vertical match may produce one that clears a complete column. Matching five tiles can form a radiant glow charm that removes every symbol of the same type from the board.
Special charms can be activated through later matches or by swapping them into useful positions. Their effects may also trigger one another. A row-clearing charm can strike a column charm, which may then reach another special tile and begin a large chain reaction across the mosaic.
These moments are visually satisfying, but they also serve an important strategic purpose. Special charms can reach isolated Signal Knots, collect several target symbols at once, and rescue levels that appear nearly impossible with only a few turns remaining.
Harbor Chains and Cascading Matches
After a successful match disappears, the charms above it fall into the open spaces. New pieces then arrive from the cloud-filled sky. Sometimes this movement creates another match automatically. That second match may create a third, producing a chain of reactions without using additional turns.
Harbor Chains multiply the points gained from cleared charms. More importantly, they can rapidly advance the objective. A carefully chosen move near the bottom of the grid often creates more opportunities for cascades because it causes a larger section of the board to shift.
Although the exact falling pieces cannot always be predicted, experienced players learn to recognize promising board structures. Two matching symbols separated by one space, vertical pairs waiting beneath another charm, and groups clustered near special pieces can all become the beginning of a powerful chain.
A Journey Through the Districts of Cottonwake
Every completed level restores another part of the harbor. Early assignments take place near the welcoming docks, where tiny boats and colorful buoys drift beside low cloudbanks. Later levels lead toward cargo platforms, lantern piers, wind towers, and signal bridges suspended above the open sky.
As your level rises, additional charm types enter the mosaic. A board that once contained only a few easily recognized symbols becomes a busy collection of harbor objects. More variety means fewer immediate matches, forcing you to create opportunities rather than simply selecting obvious combinations.
The difficulty increases gradually. The game teaches its systems through play before asking you to combine them. By the later stages, collection targets, limited turns, Signal Knots, special charms, and unpredictable cascades all become part of the same thoughtful puzzle.
Score, Progress, and Returning to the Harbor
Every cleared charm adds to your score, while longer Harbor Chains provide larger rewards. Completing a level with unused turns grants a remaining-turn bonus, encouraging efficient solutions. A player who reaches the objective early will finish with a stronger score than someone who uses every available move.
Your unlocked level is saved in the browser, allowing you to return to the latest restored district. You may continue your journey or begin again from the first harbor mosaic. Sound preferences are also remembered, so the game remains comfortable across future sessions.
If the board ever reaches a state with no possible moves, the remaining charms automatically rearrange themselves into a solvable pattern. This reshuffle does not consume a turn. The harbor may become tangled, but it will never leave its keeper trapped without a path forward.
